We are seeking an experienced and proactive in-house commercial lawyer to join our legal team. You should have a strong background in commercial law, with expertise in advising and supporting internal stakeholders on complex, high-value, cross-border transactions. If you excel at working independently, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and providing strategic legal guidance to drive business objectives, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements for the sale and purchase of aircraft, engines, components, leasing, teardown, and MRO services.
- Draft and review various other legal documents, such as NDAs, letters of intent, term sheets, funding documentation, board minutes, and written resolutions.
- Complete KYC forms and reviewing KYC / AML documentation, monitoring sanction alerts in our compliance tool.
- Participate in compliance projects, ensuring regulatory adherence (including export controls, KYC, anti-bribery, anti-fraud, data protection), drafting and reviewing company procedures and policies.
- Advise on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, sanctions, and import and export regulations.
- Draft and maintain legal templates and precedents, contributing to the legal knowledge database.
- Collaborate with internal teams to assess and mitigate legal risks.
- Liaise with insurance brokers / insurers on daily matters and renewals.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and industry trends.
- Manage external legal counsel to ensure cost-effective services.
- Provide proactive legal advice to global teams to support business objectives.
You will ideally need the following:
- Qualified Solicitor (England and Wales).
- 5+ years PQE in commercial law, preferably in-house or at a reputable law firm.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, positive attitude.
- Legal experience in managing aviation transactions and complex legal matters is preferred but not mandatory.
- Sound judgment and the ability to provide strategic legal advice.
- Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
