This role is centred on resolving user issues, investigating incidents, supporting data management activities and maintaining stable operational processes across critical business systems.
The successful candidate will use their Oracle database knowledge to troubleshoot data and process-related issues, as well as provide support for Aer Fin's Java-based Universal Update Tool (UUT), which supports ERP data imports and updates.
This is an operational support role rather than a software development position.
We're looking for someone who enjoys problem solving, working closely with users and technical teams, and helping ensure our systems and data operate effectively to support the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for users of the Quantum ERP system, investigating incidents, service requests and data-related issues.
- Troubleshoot user issues by analysing business processes, system behaviour and data quality concerns.
- Manage and update incidents through Halo ITSM, ensuring issues are accurately recorded, communicated and resolved.
- Support ERP data management activities, including data validation, investigation of discrepancies and process guidance.
- Use Oracle database knowledge to investigate issues within tables, relationships, triggers, procedures and database-driven logic.
- Identify recurring system issues, training requirements and process improvement opportunities.
- Provide guidance and support to users on correct ERP processes and data management practices.
- Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate internal teams or external vendors when required.
- Systems & Technical Support
- Support the operation of the Universal Update Tool (UUT) used for ERP data imports and updates.
- Investigate UUT-related issues and use Java knowledge to understand system behaviour and troubleshoot problems.
- Collaborate with IT teams to resolve integration, database and environment-related issues.
- Support stable operation of business-critical systems and associated data processes.
- Process Improvement & Documentation
- Identify opportunities to improve system support processes, controls and operational efficiency.
- Maintain documentation covering ERP support procedures, troubleshooting guidance and data management processes.
- Create and update knowledge articles, user guides and support resources.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across systems and data management activities.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with business users, analysts and IT colleagues to resolve issues and deliver effective support.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders, providing updates on incidents, risks and support activities.
- Participate in operational reviews and support discussions, sharing insights on recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
- What You'll Bring
- Experience supporting ERP systems, business-critical applications or operational business systems.
- Strong Oracle SQL knowledge and experience investigating data-related issues.
- Understanding of Oracle database architecture, including tables, relationships, triggers, stored procedures and database packages.
- Working knowledge of Java, with the ability to understand and troubleshoot an existing Java-based business tool.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to issue resolution.
- Experience managing incidents, service requests or support activities within an ITSM environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A support-focused mindset, with a passion for helping users and maintaining reliable business processes.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or a related discipline is desirable.
