Phlebotomist in Southampton

We are a consumer genomics company delivering DNA-based insights for ancestry, traits, and personal discovery. As a Phlebotomist, you will be the frontline clinical professional responsible for safe, precise blood sample collection and an exceptional client experience.

This role blends clinical accuracy with human interaction. You\’re not just drawing blood you\’re collecting the foundation of genomic insight.

Tasks

• Perform venepuncture and blood sample collection following strict SOPs
• Ensure correct labelling, documentation, and chain-of-custody for DNA samples
• Maintain infection control and biosafety standards at all times
• Prepare samples for secure transport to genomic laboratories
• Educate clients on the sampling process in a clear, calm, and professional manner
• Handle clients with anxiety or discomfort confidently and empathetically
• Maintain accurate digital records in compliance with UK data protection standards
• Represent the company\’s brand with professionalism in clinics, pop-ups, or home visits

Requirements

• Certified Phlebotomy training (UK-recognised or equivalent)
• Proven experience in venepuncture (clinical or diagnostic setting preferred)
• Strong understanding of sample integrity and contamination prevention
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Comfortable working with diverse clients and sensitive personal data
