The LV Overhead Line Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Northeast, responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of high-voltage overhead line projects. This role oversees planning, scheduling, and execution of construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and in line with industry standards and client requirements.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Coordinating with site supervisors, expeditors, and logistics teams
- Managing resources and materials
- Monitoring progress across multiple work fronts
- Leading site meetings
- Liaising with clients, inspectors, and utility stakeholders
- Resolving technical or operational issues as they arise
The role also involves:
- Enforcing safety procedures
- Reviewing inspection reports
- Maintaining project documentation
- Preparing regular status updates and forecasts for senior management and clients
Qualifications:
- Strong project leadership skills, including experience in Project Management for LV overhead line or related utility/infrastructure projects
- Experience working within UK DNO regulations
- Proficiency in Inspection coordination and oversight, including quality checks, compliance with specifications, and resolution of non-conformances
- Practical knowledge of Logistics Management for construction projects, including material handling, transport scheduling, and site laydown planning
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors, site supervisors, and multidisciplinary teams in a field-based environment
- Experience creating job packs or coordinating/planning works
- Solid understanding of overhead line methods, safety regulations, and relevant industry standards (e.g., utility or transmission guidelines)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and lead site and client meetings
- High level of safety awareness and experience implementing safe systems of work and risk assessments on site
- Experience with applications for payment is preferred but not essential
- Relevant technical qualification in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
