AEON Energy is looking for a part-time Marketing & Communications Operator to help us sharpen our public narrative as we scale distributed energy systems across island and remote markets. This is not a generic social media role. We need someone who can take real operational progress — solar deployments, energy software, project milestones, field execution, and founder thinking — and turn it into clear public communication.
AEON builds, finances and operates distributed energy systems in places where conventional energy companies often struggle to execute. Our core business today is distributed solar and storage installations. Alongside that, we are developing a range of cutting‑edge software and IoT solutions that support our assets and unlock value for our clients. Our website has not kept up with the company. AEON has evolved significantly over the last two years: from an early solar business into a company building, financing and operating distributed energy systems across island and remote markets, with an emerging software layer. The public narrative has not caught up with the operational reality. We need someone to help close that gap: sharpen the website, explain our work clearly, turn projects into credible stories, and make AEON look publicly like the company it is becoming.
What you’ll help with:
- Refreshing website copy and company positioning;
- Writing LinkedIn posts and project updates;
- Turning rough internal notes into clear external communication;
- Drafting case studies and simple project stories;
- Supporting light PR and publication outreach;
- Helping package E-OS products such as Deasy and Sentinel;
- Making AEON look publicly like the company it is becoming.
The goal is not volume for the sake of volume. The goal is clarity, credibility and momentum.
What we’re looking for:
- Someone who writes very clearly in English;
- Can understand technical or industrial businesses quickly;
- Is comfortable with energy, climate, infrastructure or B2B topics;
- Can work from rough notes without needing constant hand-holding;
- Has good judgement and avoids generic marketing language;
- Can make complex work sound simple without making it sound fake;
- Is practical, fast and independent.
You do not need to be an energy expert. But you do need to be curious enough to understand what we actually do.
What we are not looking for:
- A Canva-only content person;
- A big-brand strategist;
- A fractional CMO;
- Someone who needs a large team or heavy management;
- Someone who writes vague “green energy” content with no substance.
This is a hands‑on role. You will be helping turn real work into a clear public narrative.
Time and compensation:
This is a part-time freelance/contractor role. Expected time commitment: 10–15 hours per week initially, with the possibility of increasing towards 15–20 hours per week if the collaboration works well. Indicative compensation: up to £2,000 per month starting salary, depending on experience, availability and output.
