As a Design Team Lead at AEMS.ai, you will lead and manage our design team of 4 designers and grow the team to 8 within the next two months. Ensuring high-quality design while fostering growth and excellence across the team will remain a priority. Your leadership will be crucial in mentoring our designers so they can grow into lead roles as the company expands. You will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the Head of Product.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and manage the design team, conducting regular design reviews, 1-on-1s, and performance evaluations to ensure team development and growth.
- Maintain the design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and that best practices are applied across all design projects.
- Conduct design reviews for all design deliverables, ensuring consistency, usability, and seamless user experience.
- Oversee and conduct user research to identify improvement opportunities and ensure that the user is at the center of our design process.
- Set and evolve design processes, workflows, and best practices that enable the team to work efficiently while maintaining work quality.
- Mentor the designers, help them grow and prepare them to become design leads as the company scales.
- Continuously research and evaluate new design tools, methodologies, and industry trends, and adopt new tools and practices that can improve design work.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience as a UI/UX Designer working on digital products, with proven experience in B2B SaaS or AI-powered products.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience, with a track record of successfully leading design teams and developing designers' skills.
- Strong proficiency in Figma, including components, auto-layout, prototyping, and design system management.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain design systems, design processes, and best practices that scale with team growth.
- Experience conducting and overseeing user research, with a deep understanding of UX research methodologies and how to apply insights to design decisions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong focus on user experience, with the ability to identify and address UX issues across complex workflows.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with Product Managers, developers, and executive management.
- Proven ability to mentor designers, helping them grow their skills and advance their careers.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-based environment where priorities can shift, while maintaining work quality and team morale.
- Well-versed in design theory, methodologies, and industry best practices, with a passion for continuous learning and bringing new value to the team.
