We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Electronics Technician – Calibration to join our specialist Calibration Laboratory at AMETEK MRO. The role supports the accuracy, traceability and compliance of avionics and electronic test equipment, operating to UKAS‑accredited standards within a highly regulated aerospace environment.
You will work with precision measurement systems and traceable instrumentation to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, supporting both internal and customer‑facing calibration activities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform calibration of RF and electronic test equipment using approved procedures
- Calibrate equipment including battery analysers, chargers and air data test sets
- Complete calibration certificates, reports and supporting documentation accurately
- Support UKAS and accreditation audits, ensuring ongoing compliance
- Develop and maintain measurement uncertainty budgets where required
- Diagnose equipment failures and carry out corrective actions prior to re‑calibration
- Undertake component‑level repairs to restore full test equipment functionality
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, organisation and laboratory discipline
- Previous experience in an electronics or calibration role within a regulated environment
- Sound understanding of calibration principles, metrology and RF fundamentals
- Hands‑on experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers and pulse generators
- Strong working knowledge of BS EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017
- Ability to fault‑find and repair electronic and RF equipment at component level
- Competent interpreting circuit diagrams and technical documentation
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and compliance
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a technical team
- Technical qualification (Degree, HND or HNC preferred)
- Recognised trade qualification or relevant military training is advantageous
