Our client, a well-established and growing player in the global energy markets, is currently seeking a Mid-Level Operations Specialist to join their London-based Operations team. Key Responsibilities
- Accurate and timely deal entry for brokered energy transactions (OTC and exchange).
- Validate deals against broker confirmations, voice records, and counterparty documentation.
- Monitor and resolve trade breaks, discrepancies, and queries with brokers, traders, and counterparties.
- Support the full trade lifecycle for brokered deals, including position reconciliation and daily operational processes.
- Liaise closely with the brokerage desk, clients, and settlement teams.
- Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency in a brokerage setting.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in Operations, ideally within energy/commodities brokerage, inter-dealer brokerage, or related markets.
- Strong hands-on deal entry / trade capture experience is essential.
- Good understanding of energy products (gasoline, crude, power, gas, etc.) and brokerage workflows is highly advantageous.
- Experience with trading platforms such as ICE, Trayport, or brokerage systems is desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative team player.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Right to work in the UK.
