We are now looking for a Fund Relationship and Data Lead to join our Investment Proposition department based in Edinburgh. This department is pivotal in developing, marketing, and selling Aegon’s investment proposition.

As a Fund Relationship and Data Lead you will manage a small team who facilitates the oversight of fund managers, other third parties, and data requirements of the Investment Proposition. You will ensure that core processes are completed in line with plans whilst recommending enhancements to processes. You will also provide fund data, including the production of climate data, to meet reporting and proposition requirements and support Investment Proposition and Aegon UK projects where an Investment Oversight specialist is key to the project team, including:

  • Developing fund manager oversight approach to ensure fund propositions are delivered effectively and commercial benefits are secured.
  • Conducting regular due diligence on fund managers, including responsible investment and stewardship requirements.
  • Organising and running quarterly fund manager oversight meetings, including overseeing the initial deployment of capital to private assets and ongoing monitoring.
  • Supporting all Aegon UK’s fund manager relationships, including the sourcing of third-party funds.
  • Supporting the production of data for TCFD/Stewardship reporting.
  • Monitoring management information to identify trends and share insights with Proposition teams.
  • Acting as a technical SME on Proposition-led projects and key business processes.
  • Acting as delegate for the Head of Investment Oversight at MIC when necessary.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Highly developed capability in data management and analysis using Excel and other tools.
  • Team management skills, including workflow oversight.
  • Relationship management and commercial negotiation skills, with the ability to persuade and influence senior management, including CFO and CRO, when necessary.
  • Investment and fund analysis skills in areas such as performance analysis, peer group comparison, risk assessment, and correlation analyses.
  • Detailed understanding of industry performance systems (e.g., Financial Express or Morningstar).
  • Understanding of the investment landscape, including asset allocation, investment processes, investment styles, fund managers, funds, solutions, and the wider pension fund industry.
  • Good regulatory understanding in respect of investments (e.g., Investment Rules/ TCF/COBS).
