Purpose of the Role
AEGIS London are currently seeking a Senior Catastrophe Analyst (Non-Nat Cat) to deliver exposure analysis, accumulation monitoring and modelling across the syndicate’s Non-Natural Catastrophe business classes. Responsibility for the production and reporting of monthly roll-up and analysis for relevant classes of business. This role will work closely with stakeholders across the business, particularly underwriting departments, to provide support, reporting and MI as required. Role will also be responsible for monitoring and improving data standards for relevant classes of business.
Duties and Accountabilities
- Production of portfolio analysis, monthly roll-up, monitoring and reporting of accumulation risk for classes of business exposed to non-natural catastrophe risk. Explanation of results to underwriting teams.
- Develop, implement, and maintain processes for recording exposure data for allocated classes of business. Oversee robust and consistent data standards, working closely with outsourcers. Ensure complete, accurate and timely data capture in appropriate aggregation systems.
- Assist with regulatory requirements including Lloyd’s and other regulatory reporting, as well as reinsurance data submissions.
- Responsible for maintenance of detailed procedure guidelines, for use within the EM team and by outsourcing teams.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with relevant underwriters and other internal stakeholders.
- Review and improve Exposure Management workflows, processes, and reports. Look for new and innovative ways to present risk to Management and underwriters. Ability to lead project work and confidence to question established ways of thinking.
- Lead infrastructure and development activities within the EM team, including process improvements, model implementation, validation, and upgrades.
- Other tasks/projects as required to support the overall objectives of the team.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Knowledge and experience of Exposure Management systems, processes, reporting & roll-up for Non-Natural Catastrophe classes of business.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including Lloyds RDS, relating to Non-Natural perils and classes of business.
- Programming language including SQL, R desirable. Ability to use programming languages to improve processing efficiencies and automate reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with an inquisitive, pro-active attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate with other team members and departments.
