AEGIS London is currently seeking a Syndicate Finance Manager on a fixed term basis (circa 15 months) to cover a period of maternity leave. The Finance Syndicate team is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and submission of statutory returns to Lloyd’s and other regulatory reporting (including Solvency II) of AEGIS London. The Syndicate Finance Manager will contribute to process enhancement, systems development and other finance projects, and assist with the development of more junior team members alongside BAU activities.

Duties and Accountabilities

  • Own and oversee the preparation and review of Lloyd’s Regulatory returns including: QMA, QMB, SBF, US Situs, Cad Situs, NAIC, TRIA/FIO, Standard Formula, QSR, QAD, ASR, AAD, QF1 and AF1, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with Lloyd’s requirements.
  • Oversee and coordinate the end-to-end Syndicate reporting timetable, including stakeholder inputs, review cycles and formal sign-off processes.
  • Own the delivery and review of Syndicate Financial Statements, ensuring high-quality output and compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external auditors, acting as the primary point of contact, ensuring effective coordination of audit activity and timely provision of supporting evidence.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of financial and underwriting commentary to senior management and governance committees.

Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of Workday, Phinsys and Clearwater desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead, review and challenge financial and regulatory outputs.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels, including senior management.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across a wide stakeholder group.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships across functions.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience of team leadership or mentoring desirable.
