As a Junior Catastrophe Analyst at AEGIS London you will be responsible for data entry for relevant classes of business, predominantly using outsourcing providers. Assist with delivery of exposure analysis across the syndicate's business classes, including pre-bind modelling and other accumulation monitoring tasks. This role will assist senior members of the team to provide support, reporting and MI to underwriting teams as required. Assist with monitoring and improving data standards for relevant classes of business.
Duties and Accountabilities
- Management of data entry for relevant classes of business using outsourcing providers.
- Assist with supervision of outsourced resources – including data cleansing and entry standards, as well as adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Production of pre-bind modelling, including management of outsourcing providers - providing underwriting teams with required analytics and explanation of model output.
- Assist with monthly roll-up for relevant classes of business, including explanation of account movements and key drivers.
- Contribute to detailed procedure guidelines for data cleansing, entry and modelling, for use within the EM team and by outsourcing teams.
- Assist with production of reporting and MI to underwriters, returns to regulators, reinsurers or other ad hoc reporting as required.
- Assist with infrastructure and development activities within the EM team, including process improvements, model implementation, validation, and upgrades.
- Other tasks/projects as required in order to support the overall objectives of the team.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with an inquisitive, pro-active attitude. Supporting academics in a highly numerate field would be advantageous.
- Organised approach to tasks and an ability to meet tight deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate with other team members and departments.
- Able to work from own initiative and also contribute as part of a wider team.
- Prior experience in the insurance sector would be advantageous as would recently having completed relevant academics.
- Demonstrable ability working with MS Excel and other MS Office products.
