Who We Are: Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd. that was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rail and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools, and other key destinations throughout the city.

As part of this project, we are currently looking for a Quality Coordinator to join our team.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform daily site inspections, verify applicable witness and hold points, and upload completed inspection report to the project Quality Management Platform.
  • Evaluate and document the quality of construction work performed by the companies, suppliers and/or subcontractors, including conformance with PA requirements, IFC drawings and specifications, fulfilling all the quality assigned activities in the related Inspection and test plan for performing and documenting inspections and tests assigned.
  • Verify that any equipment that requires so, is fit for purpose, properly calibrated and maintained as required.
  • Assist in identifying and reporting non conforming construction work and material related quality issues.
  • Support monitoring and follow up of these issues through to resolution.
  • Coordinate and notify as indicated in the ITPs all the quality activities with Construction Quality Manager, Quality Coordinators, inspectors and with any other party/agency having jurisdiction, including Contracting Authority and Toronto Transit Commission (TTC).
  • Ensure inspections and tests are performed in accordance with the approved ITPs and quality records and other quality documents are complete, accurate, and meet the applicable requirements.
  • Review specifications and testing procedures prior to conducting inspections and testing.
  • Prepare, maintain, and upload ITP related quality records for the assigned scope of work into the project Quality Management Platform.
  • Prepare and maintain a schedule for the assigned work area, identifying planned activities and applicable witness and hold points.
  • Coordinate timely third-party testing with the construction team and submit required request for testing (RFT).
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by construction activities.

Experience You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or combination of related industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in transit / rail projects is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of WHMIS and occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Familiarity in application of building standards (CSA, OPSS, MTO, OBC).
  • Experience or understanding of transit or construction systems in Ontario.
  • Strong organizational, collaborative, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Notes.
