What is the Opportunity

We’re on a mission to become Canada’s #1 utility construction provider, and we’re looking for a co‑op student to join our Water/Sewer team and help us get there! Reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll gain hands‑on experience supporting project coordination and operational activities to ensure efficient and safe execution of Aecon projects.

What you will do here:

  • Assist with data collection and project analysis to support operational decisions.
  • Help schedule work crews and coordinate site activities.
  • Perform site previews and inspections as needed for project readiness.
  • Support inventory management and procurement of specialty materials/tools.
  • Assist with tool maintenance, certification, and tracking.
  • Monitor equipment status and prepare weekly utilization reports.
  • Track and maintain worker training records for compliance.
  • Support safety initiatives by ensuring inspections and reporting align with Aecon’s Health & Safety standards.
  • Help review and summarize Quality Assurance non‑conformances and follow‑up actions.
  • Maintain organized yard facilities and assist with material handling and documentation.
  • Generate reports and assist with data analysis to improve operational efficiency.
  • Deliver rush materials/tools to crews as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the Renewables team.

What you bring to the team:

  • Currently enrolled in a Civil or Construction Technology/Technician program.
  • Interest in utility construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication skills – oral and written.
  • Self‑motivated, organized, and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
