Who We Are: STC is a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd. that was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rail and Systems (SSE‑SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools, and other key destinations throughout the city.
What You Will Do:
- Provide technical and construction support to specific areas of civil works (concrete, drainage, track, etc.).
- Understand client drivers and offer value engineering proposals for schedule, functionality, and cost benefit.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to build schedule, obtain estimates, define scope of works, and develop construction plans.
- Provide support in creating construction related documents such as work methodologies, test plans, and QA/QC documents.
- Coordinate and communicate with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Understand and enforce contract documents.
Experience You Will Bring:
- Must be enrolled in post‑secondary co‑operative education for an Engineering / Engineering Technologist / Construction Technology program.
- Previous experience on a construction project or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
- Experience on multidisciplinary, large‑scale railway or heavy civil projects is an asset.
- Familiarity and knowledge of concrete works, construction methodologies, and project scheduling.
- Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and documents.
- Sound computer skills – MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Project/Primavera P6, AutoCAD, SharePoint.
- Strong communication and report writing skills.
- Comfortable working on construction site and in office.
- Self‑motivated with good organizational skills.
- Ability to engage with team, support project outcomes, and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and accurately under pressure.
- Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines.
