The predicted salary is between 55000 - 65000 £ per year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering design and technical advisory services to a diverse range of clients; ensuring all technical design work is completed in accordance with local standards and sound engineering principles.
  • Provide expertise on process hazard analysis, including chairing HAZID and sometimes HAZOP studies associated with the team's projects and advising clients on safety study needs; review and contribute to safety studies completed by contractors for compliance on behalf of clients.
  • Work with Process Safety professionals within the wider company to develop collaboration opportunities and enhance quality of service for clients.
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of technical and other deliverables as part of projects on behalf of project managers within our team and the wider organisation.
  • Prepare and present bids and proposals, including cost estimates and supporting materials.
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure timely provision of coordinated and quality engineering deliverables.
  • Actively foster and strengthen relationships with internal and external clients and suppliers; develop new relationships in pursuit of winning work for the energy business.
  • Coach, mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers, empowering them to grow and develop professionally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering (or equivalent).
  • Considerable technical experience in power generation, industrial process, CCUS and/or future fuels projects, preferably within a consulting environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in process hazard analysis, ideally with formal training in delivering safety studies.
  • Understanding of process safety regulations including COMAH and ATEX regimes, ideally with knowledge of how these apply to hydrogen and derivatives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ensuring effective interaction with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
