Job Description
How you’ll make a difference
Our Perth highways team is in a strong position, delivering major transport projects locally while continuing to secure new work nationally. There’s real momentum, a healthy forward pipeline and the support of a broader ANZ technical network so you’ll have consistent project exposure and the backing to do your best work.
- Deliver highways design across transport infrastructure projects, including civil arrangements, geometric design (road, cycleway, footpath), signage, PUP and safety barriers.
- Produce high-quality drawings and models using in line with RPDM, AustRoads and client standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to design team members, including mentoring and training on digital design tools and workflows.
- Work under limited supervision to manage your own deliverables while contributing to broader project outcomes.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, supporting the integration and federation of design inputs across projects.
- Contribute to design documentation and ensure outputs meet project specifications, quality standards and delivery timelines.
- Support the use of BIM and digital engineering tools to enhance design coordination and project delivery.
Qualifications
The qualities that help you thrive
- 2–6 years’ experience in highway or road infrastructure drafting, ideally across transport and civil infrastructure projects.
- Solid skills in AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D, with exposure to MicroStation or OpenRoads viewed favourably depending on the project environment.
- Good understanding of highway geometry, road design principles, and drafting standards, with the ability to work from engineering sketches, models, and technical specifications.
- Strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and the ability to manage deadlines while maintaining a high standard of work.
- Experience working to AustRoads, Main Roads WA, or similar Australian standards is advantageous.
- Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering Drafting, Engineering Design, or a related field.
- Exposure to BIM, 12D, OpenRoads Designer, or construction documentation would also be beneficial.
