Overview
As a Senior Rail Project Manager at AECOM, you will lead client-facing delivery within the South Rail Systems Alliance, coordinating rail systems with growing civils integration. You’ll drive end-to-end projects, manage baselines, risks and stakeholders, and ensure safety, cost and schedule targets. You will partner with cross-functional teams across Swindon, Cardiff and Bristol to grow the pipeline and strengthen delivery capability. Your leadership will build client confidence and enable integrated, multi-location execution. This role offers front-line impact on complex rail schemes within a global infrastructure firm.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex rail systems projects with growing civils integration
- Act as primary client interface, building trust through proactive communications
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across locations to ensure consistent performance and governance
- Own integrated programme plans, manage baselines, risks, issues and change
- Direct multi-site teams ensuring clear roles and performance expectations
- Coordinate with Enterprise Capabilities in India and project controls to expand delivery capability
Key requirements
- Proven experience delivering complex rail projects as a Project Manager or Senior PM
- Experience delivering rail systems with civils interfaces or multidisciplinary programmes
- Strong programme controls, governance, and reporting (schedule, cost, risk, change, metrics)
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management in multi-organisation environments
- Ability to travel regularly between Swindon, Cardiff, and Bristol and attend in-person meetings
