We are searching for a Signalling Administrator to join us within a fixed‑term contract where you will work with our regional signalling teams to undertake the administrative tasks necessary to support a dedicated Signalling design team based in Swindon.
With a strong ability to work independently or as part of a team, the Signalling Administrator will provide administrative support to the discipline, primarily in terms of controlling and issuing design deliverables. They will also support the Signalling Manager and other team members more generally with activities such as progress reporting, records requesting, records control, records return, etc.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Ensure deliverables are controlled and issued in accordance with client and governance requirements for Signalling and associated projects.
- Partake in lessons learned reviews and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure that the technical processes and procedures for the issue/delivery of discipline outputs are followed.
- Work closely with other Signalling team members to support them with all appropriate tasks.

- Correctly using the work items provided, including personal protective equipment in accordance with training and instruction.
- Giving full co‑operation in all matters relating to health and safety.

- Promoting Health and Safety best practice to discipline teams through attendance at regular team briefs.
- Ensuring that procedures and systems are in place so that all project work is undertaken in a safe manner and compliant with health and safety legislation.
- Taking an active part in monthly HSQE meetings through sharing relevant Health and Safety information with others and identifying and prioritising HSQE issues that affect rail and the wider business.
- Reporting on unforeseen risks that may emerge during the course of their work using the appropriate systems.
- Identifying and managing risks throughout the design process and project lifecycle.
We are searching for a highly motivated individual, able to work independently or as part of a team, diligent and with an eye for detail who can create, manage, file and archive documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Experience within an Administrative function within a working delivery Rail environment.
- Experienced in the use of common data environments such as ProjectWise.
- Experienced in the use of all MS Office packages.
- Familiarity with office technology and equipment, including computers, scanners, printers, stationery ordering, etc.
- Experience in arranging for the maintenance, repair and replacement of office equipment.
- Deal with incoming and outgoing correspondence appropriately.
- Can compile reports.
- Can direct, review, and optimise office operations to increase accuracy, productivity, and efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Can maintain good communication and cooperation with all project team members and communicate effectively at all levels.
- Commitment to delivery to internal and external clients, with the view towards timeliness, reliability, safety, and accuracy of completed tasks.
