Due to exceptional growth in demand for our services we are currently recruiting for a Senior Social Impact consultant to join our Carbon & ESG practice. Successful candidates will work collaboratively with our highly experienced and specialist social impacts team to deliver a range of social impact value and advisory projects for infrastructure and multi‑national businesses as well as contributing to wider ESG advisory projects. You will gain valuable experience assessing social and equality impacts and conducting social research. Social research and analysis is the key focus for this role.

Heres what youll do:

Project Delivery & Impact Assessment

  • Lead and deliver social consulting and advisory projects including planning research measurement engagement and reporting.
  • Assess social and equality impacts using qualitative and quantitative research methods including primary fieldwork data analysis and evaluation.
  • Ensure quality timeliness and financial management across projects.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise and collaborate with clients colleagues and external advisors to achieve excellence in delivery.
  • Build and maintain positive long‑term client relationships.

Business Development & Growth

  • Prepare costed proposals webinars flyers case studies and other business development materials.
  • Support leadership teams in identifying and securing new internal and external opportunities.
  • Build internal networks to promote social impact value and advisory services within AECOM.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Work alongside support and mentor team members to build their capacity and expertise.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment that fosters knowledge sharing and professional development.

Multitasking & Strategic Contribution

  • Manage multiple projects and proposals simultaneously balancing competing priorities.
  • Support the wider Carbon & ESG practice in driving strategic initiatives and securing new opportunities.

Here is what we are looking for:

Technical Expertise

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of one or more of the following:
  • Knowledge of the implications of the Equality Act 2010 in relation to planning major infrastructure, urban regeneration and environmental enhancement schemes.
  • Social and/or equality impact assessment of projects, policies or plans.
  • Quantitative and/or qualitative data collection and analysis.
  • Measuring social value created by projects.
  • Use of social value measurement tools such as the National TOMs framework.
  • Human rights and modern slavery due diligence including in supply chains.

Project Delivery

  • Proven ability to deliver high‑quality work across diverse projects and tasks.
  • Experience in project and financial management ensuring technical quality, timeliness and cost efficiency.
  • Ability to manage client liaison and coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently and design solutions under own initiative.

Business Development & Commercial Awareness

  • Commercial awareness and understanding of business drivers in sustainability and social value.
  • Experience contributing to business development, marketing and proposal preparation.
  • Desire to contribute to the growth of the team and service offering through client engagement and winning new work.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Fluency in additional languages is an advantage.
  • Commitment to building positive working relationships and fostering collaboration across teams.
  • Dedication to excellence in delivery and professional standards.
