AECOM is looking for Solar Design Engineers with varying areas of expertise/experience to join our rapidly expanding renewable energy team. The successful candidate(s) will join our project teams to deliver a range of feasibility, design and technical advisory roles. Working on a range of commercial-scale rooftop, car-port, floating and ground mount solar projects including design services for some of the largest NSIP scale Solar PV projects in the UK and projects across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) some of which will also include energy storage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design PV systems using PVSol, PVSyst, PVCase or other PV design software.
- Support projects by providing design layout, system specification, cost estimates and technical reports.
- Conduct technical site surveys nationwide.
- Attend client meetings and build rapport to coordinate and develop solutions.
- Support the commercial team in the preparation of technical submission documents and tenders, from a technical perspective.
- Uphold a robust health and safety culture across the company.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of the latest Electrical Codes.
- Engineer technical excellence and pride in work and project outcomes.
- Apply BS 7671 wiring regulation and IET CoP for solar PV installations.
About You
- Proven track record and experience in the design, specification or construction of solar PV projects as a consultant or EPC contractor.
- Ability to produce formal reports and documents.
- Highly motivated, able to work independently, diligent and with an eye for detail.
- Looking to achieve a chartership in a chosen institute.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or master’s degree in a related subject.
- Driver's licence to gain access to remote sites.
