Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Senior Dams & Reservoirs Engineer and help us deliver projects throughout the UK and internationally. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement with flexibility to work from home and one of our Reservoir Engineering Hub offices - Edinburgh, Belfast or Leeds.

Responsibilities
- Lead design and analysis for embankment and concrete dams, spillways, outlet works, and related hydraulic structures.
- Prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, and design drawings, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Review inspection reports, monitoring data, and recommend mitigation strategies for existing dam infrastructure.
- Participate in field investigations and inspections, including travel as required.
- Provide senior-level technical oversight, mentoring junior engineers, and reviewing deliverables for accuracy and quality.
- Support business development through proposal preparation, cost estimation, and client engagement.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong client relationships throughout project delivery.
- Manage dam-related projects including planning, execution, financial tracking, and coordination.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in civil or geotechnical engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards being chartered.
- Experience working in dam design, refurbishment and project delivery.
- Proven ability to manage complex civil engineering projects from concept to completion, with a focus on dams and associated infrastructure.
- Skilled in producing high-quality technical deliverables, applying innovative approaches to practical engineering challenges.
- Understanding of hydraulic phenomena (e.g., cavitation, air entrainment, transient flows) and ability to integrate numerical and physical modelling for design optimization.
- CFD modelling experience for spillways and hydraulic structures with proficiency in tools such as Flow3D or similar, and familiarity with preprocessing/post-processing software (e.g., Rhino, Grasshopper).
