The Leeds-based Streets team is looking for a Senior Engineer (Active and Sustainable Transport) to lead the design and delivery of active travel, public transport, traffic engineering, and urban realm projects across Leeds, West Yorkshire and beyond. This role shapes safer, greener, more inclusive transport networks that benefit communities. You will join a strong, collaborative team recognized as market leaders in transportation, involved from feasibility through to construction.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of active travel, public transport, general traffic engineering and urban realm schemes from concept through to detailed design and implementation.
- Manage technical outputs, mentor junior staff, engage directly with clients, and ensure high-quality outputs are delivered.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across AECOM and external stakeholders.
- Delegate and coordinate tasks for graduates and technicians, supporting their development.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Champion Health familiarity with Active Travel England’s scheme review tools.
- Utilize Civils 3D (desirable), AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (essential); proficiency with GIS, ReMix, PCT, and other tools is advantageous.
Qualifications
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) or support toward chartership.
- Recognised engineering qualification or degree in engineering.
- Experience in technical leadership, managing interfaces within projects and knowledge of system interfaces.
