Senior Bridge Inspector – Birmingham, UK
The Senior Bridge Inspector will support the Bridges & Structures team, performing hands‑on inspections of bridge structures across the United Kingdom.
The role combines remote work, office presence and field activity, requiring a minimum of two days per week in the Birmingham office.
Responsibilities
- Conduct structural inspections of bridges and related infrastructure throughout the UK.
- Produce detailed drawings, risk assessments and inspection reports.
- Collaborate with clients from Local Authorities, Network Rail, National Highways and other sectors to deliver safe and compliant bridge solutions.
- Apply specialist access skills for complex bridge configurations.
- Maintain high quality standards with a "right first time" approach to all work.
Qualifications
- BEng or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience and education.
- Strong technical knowledge in bridge engineering and related software tools.
- Experience in the production of drawings, risk assessments and reporting.
- Lantra BICS accreditation is beneficial.
- Confined space training is beneficial.
- Commitment to working a minimum of two days per week in the Birmingham office.
