We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer specializing in LV / Building Services to join our dynamic team in Glasgow, United Kingdom. As a key member of our organisation, you will contribute to the design and implementation of electrical systems for a wide range of building projects, ensuring high-quality solutions that meet our clients' needs.

  • Develop and execute electrical engineering designs for building services projects, focusing on LV systems and related components.
  • Perform electrical engineering analysis and establish project design requirements, criteria, and estimating assumptions.
  • Create and review technical drawings, specifications, and calculations using industry-standard software such as Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with other building components.
  • Conduct site surveys and inspections to inform designs and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and tender interviews to communicate design concepts and solutions effectively.
  • Support construction and commissioning efforts, interfacing with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies within the organization.
  • Mentor junior team members and share technical knowledge to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes in the field of electrical engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Proven experience in electrical building services design, with a focus on LV systems.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with experience in 3D modeling and BIM.
  • Working knowledge of electrical design software such as Amtech Pro Design, ElecOM, Dialux, and NES/NBS.
  • Strong understanding of LV supply, small power distribution, lighting design, earthing, lightning protection, fire alarm systems, and telecommunication services.
  • Experience in design and delivery of projects within the consulting industry.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Project management abilities, including time management and organization skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Working towards or holding professional chartership (preferred).
  • Experience with a variety of building projects, such as defense, education, healthcare, and commercial developments (preferred).
  • Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings.

The ability to obtain requisite security clearance for working with our Defence Sector clients, the candidate must be a British National of at least 5 years unbroken standing.
