In this senior role, you will provide expert technical and design leadership for major Building Engineering projects within a multidisciplinary team. You’ll steer delivery, quality, schedule and budgets while engaging clients and identifying growth opportunities. You’ll lead design management, technical reviews, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, shaping outcomes for landmark projects. This is a high-impact position at a global firm committed to sustainable, diverse and inclusive work. You’ll help expand AECOM’s Building Engineering capability and client portfolio.

Responsibilities
- Provide senior technical and design leadership across major Building Engineering projects with emphasis on quality, schedule and client outcomes
- Lead project teams and ensure successful delivery of a portfolio of projects
- Engage with clients to understand needs, build relationships and deliver practical engineering solutions
- Lead design management, technical reviews and cross-disciplinary project delivery
- Support business development through client engagement, proposals, tender interviews and presentations
- Identify opportunities to grow services with existing and new clients across locations
- Provide commercial oversight including budgets, pricing, contracts and project performance
- Plan, lead and own commercial conversations and outcomes with key clients
- Build and develop high-performing teams and facilitate technical development and career progression
- Collaborate with senior leaders to support resource planning and growth of Building Engineering capability
- Represent AECOM with clients, industry partners and the wider engineering community
Key requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Civil / Structural Engineering; Chartered Engineer and relevant registrations; ideally 20+ years in building services in Australia
- Extensive building engineering experience with complex, multidisciplinary projects
- Proven track record in senior technical, project or business leadership roles
- Strong commercial understanding including budgets, programmes, contracts and financial performance
- Experience in client engagement, commercial management, negotiations, and business development
- Experience leading and developing high-performing project teams
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills with clients and senior stakeholders
- Established network within the Australian building engineering and property market (highly regarded)
