Overview
In this role you will lead AECOM's Network Planning capability across Australia and New Zealand, guiding transmission, distribution planning and grid integration. You will partner with utilities, developers and government to shape long-term investment strategies that support decarbonisation and energy security. You’ll manage multidisciplinary teams, deliver complex power systems projects and build trusted client relationships. This is an opportunity to influence the region’s critical energy infrastructure with a collaborative, expert-led approach. Responsibilities
- Lead the Network Planning capability across Australia and New Zealand.
- Partner with utilities, network operators, developers and government stakeholders on strategic planning.
- Provide technical leadership across transmission and distribution planning, power system studies and grid integration.
- Shape long-term network investment strategies supporting decarbonisation and energy security.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering complex power systems and network planning projects.
- Build and strengthen trusted client relationships in key energy markets.
- Support business growth through market engagement and thought leadership.
- Mentor and develop technical leaders while expanding capability across the Energy business.
- Collaborate with regional and global experts to deliver innovative client solutions.
- Drive technical excellence, quality and project outcomes in Network Planning.
Key requirements
- Significant experience in power systems, transmission and distribution planning, network strategy or grid integration.
- Strong understanding of electricity networks, energy markets and the energy transition challenges.
- Experience working with utilities, regulators, renewable developers or major infrastructure clients.
- Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering large-scale technical projects.
- Commercial acumen and ability to identify and grow strategic client opportunities.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
