Overview
As an Architect at Associate Director level, you will provide design leadership and project oversight across complex Australian projects. You’ll guide multidisciplinary teams, drive design quality and client satisfaction, and mentor colleagues while contributing to business growth. This role blends design leadership, client engagement, and delivery excellence within a leading, diverse team. You’ll help shape sustainable architectural solutions and elevate AECOM’s offering through collaboration and strategic oversight.

Responsibilities
- Provide project leadership and technical oversight across architectural projects, guiding multidisciplinary teams through complex commissions and setting design direction
- Drive excellence in project delivery, ensuring design quality, innovation, technical outcomes and client expectations are achieved
- Collaborate with clients, sector leads and project teams to develop relationships, identify opportunities and pursue major projects
- Champion design and technical standards, coordinating multidisciplinary inputs for thoughtful, sustainable architectural solutions
- Mentor and develop architects and designers to build capability across the wider team
- Support business performance through resource allocation, budget and risk management, contributing to growth of the architectural offering
Key requirements
- Registered Architect (in Western Australia) with ideally 15+ years’ experience and current professional registration
- Strong architectural experience across complex projects with solid design, documentation and delivery knowledge
- Proven leadership skills with experience growing high-performing teams
- Strong organizational and project management abilities for multidisciplinary projects
- Strong client and stakeholder engagement skills to build trusted relationships and win work
- Strategic mindset to contribute to growth and market position of AECOM’s architectural offering
