Job Description

Start here. Grow here. Are you ready to join a team of talented and innovative Renewable Energy professionals and work on a wide variety of groundbreaking projects? As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work on a range of projects in the energy and renewable power sector, with a focus on providing Process Safety inputs as well as engineering delivery and management of tasks and deliverables. Projects are typically focused in the hydrogen and future fuels/green chemicals space, as well as carbon capture and storage technologies and other process technologies with a core focus on decarbonisation.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Provide engineering design and technical advisory services to a diverse range of clients; ensuring all technical design work is completed in accordance with local standards and sound engineering principles;
  • Provide expertise on process hazard analysis, including chairing HAZID and sometimes HAZOP studies associated with the team’s projects and advising clients on needs for safety studies and contributing to and reviewing safety studies completed by contractors for compliance with requirements on behalf of our clients;
  • Work with Process Safety professionals within the wider AECOM business to develop collaboration opportunities and enhance quality of service in this area for our clients;
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of technical and other deliverables as part of projects on behalf of project managers within our own team and the wider AECOM organisation;
  • Prepare and present bids and proposals including cost estimates and supporting materials;
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure timely provision of coordinated and quality engineering deliverables;
  • Actively foster and strengthen relationships with internal and external clients and suppliers; developing new relationships in the pursuit of winning work for the energy business;
  • Coach, mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers empowering them to grow and develop professionally.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible? Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering (or equivalent);
  • Considerable technical experience in power generation, industrial process, CCUS and/or future fuels projects, preferably within a consulting environment;
  • Demonstrable experience in process hazard analysis, ideally with formal training in delivering safety studies;
  • Understanding of process safety regulations including COMAH and ATEX regimes, ideally with knowledge of how these apply to Hydrogen and derivatives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, ensuring effective interaction with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
