Overview
In this role you will lead AECOM’s Network Planning capabilities for Australia and New Zealand, guiding transmission, distribution, and grid integration initiatives. You will work with utilities, developers, and government stakeholders to shape long-term network investment strategies that support decarbonisation and energy security. You’ll direct multidisciplinary teams delivering complex power systems projects and foster strong client relationships. This is a chance to influence the region’s energy transition and contribute to resilient, sustainable energy infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Lead AECOM's Network Planning capability across Australia and New Zealand
- Partner with utilities, network operators, renewables developers and government stakeholders on strategic planning
- Provide technical leadership across transmission and distribution planning, power system studies and grid integration
- Shape long-term network investment strategies supporting decarbonisation and energy security
- Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering complex power systems and network planning projects
- Build and strengthen trusted client relationships across key energy markets
- Support business growth through market engagement and thought leadership
- Mentor and develop technical leaders while building capability across Energy
- Collaborate with regional and global experts to bring innovative solutions
- Drive technical excellence, quality and project outcomes across Network Planning
Key requirements
- Significant experience in power systems, transmission and distribution planning, network strategy or grid integration
- Strong understanding of electricity networks, energy markets and energy transition challenges
- Experience with utilities, regulators, renewables developers or major infrastructure clients
- Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering large-scale technical projects
- Commercial acumen and ability to identify and grow strategic client opportunities
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
