You will join an established team of Ground Engineers within the Northeast region, located in the AECOM Newcastle Office, and working closely with colleagues from across the UK & Ireland. We work for leading United Kingdom & Ireland (UK&I) and international clients and have a wide range of commissions across all sectors, some typical examples of current and past projects include National Grid's Great Grid Upgrade, H2Teesside, High Speed Rail, Network Rail's Control Point 7 programme of works, and overseas work including work for the Royal Commission of Al Ula and Neom.
Our Ground Engineering Practice covers all aspects of Ground Engineering serving a wide range of end markets.
Here's what we're interested in: We require ambitious team players with the technical and commercial skills, knowledge, and experience to take on day-to-day responsibility for the delivery of projects, ensuring technical quality and adherence to budget and programme. Leading the geotechnical input to projects from desk study/feasibility through to ground investigation and interpretation to final design, including preparation of specifications, ground investigation reports, construction drawings and geotechnical design reports. Overseeing projects ensuring adherence to programme and budget.
Here's what we'll be looking for:
- BEng / MEng in Civil Engineering or BSc and/or MSc in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Ability to collaborate closely in project delivery, work winning and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
- Familiarity with data management software.
- Well-rounded experience in geotechnical design (e.g. earthworks, foundations, retaining structures, slope stabilisation) with strong analytical skills and confidence in the use of relevant design software (e.g. Bentley Slope/W, Rocscience Settle 3D, Oasys ALP, OASYS FREW or Geosolve Wallap).
- Familiarity with the production of geotechnical analysis and design packages, including drawings, risk assessments, specifications and design reports.
- Experience with standards and processes in specialised fields (e.g. highways, railways) is desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical reports and documents and make high quality confident presentations in-person or remotely using collaboration software.
- Clean driving licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK.
