Overview
In this role, you will lead and grow AECOM’s NSW ecology practice, shaping a high-impact team and delivering projects that advance ecological outcomes. You’ll strengthen client relationships, support strategic growth, and ensure consistent national standards across the ANZ Ecology Practice. You’ll oversee complex ecological investigations for major infrastructure projects, mentor ecologists, and drive innovation and digital enablement. This is a hands-on leadership role at the intersection of science, strategy, and delivery with a strong focus on growth and client value.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the NSW Ecology team
- Drive strategic growth by building client relationships and contributing to proposals
- Deliver for key clients and position the ecology offering across NSW and cross-sell across regions
- Lead and implement complex ecological investigations for high-profile infrastructure projects (baseline surveys, pre-clearing, threatened species surveys)
- Oversee and prepare technical reports and plans; mentor and manage project delivery
- Undertake field work across NSW and ACT
- Lead strategy, innovation and digital enablement
Key requirements
- NSW BAM Accreditation
- ecology experience in Australia (ideally 10+ years) with 5+ years in NSW delivering to local requirements
- working knowledge of Commonwealth and NSW environmental legislation and planning systems
- commercial acumen with client relationship growth and service expansion
- strong leadership and relationship-building skills; mentoring and team development
- excellent written and verbal communication; trusted advisor to public/private sector
- ability to develop people, shape capability and build a cohesive NSW team
- ecology technical leadership with a record of delivering complex, high-impact projects
