We have senior-level opportunities for hydrogeologists and groundwater experts, offering rapid career progression and the chance to support impactful projects across the UK, particularly within our Birmingham, Nottingham, Manchester, Cambridge, St Albans or Basingstoke Team. Join our team of 30+ hydrogeologists to help us with projects in the UK and overseas which range from groundwater source investigation to dewatering and groundwater flooding; impact assessment of major infrastructure schemes to water management (Water Companies, Energy and Digital Infrastructure Sector); and development of strategies to better manage this precious resource.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- You will advise on all aspects of hydrogeology and work across UK and Ireland initially, with potential for growth into international projects.
- Provide expert advice on hydrogeological conceptualisation.
- Assist with delivery of both water resources and engineering hydrogeology projects.
- Prepare bids internally and externally to support growth.
- Work with a team of consultants/graduate hydrogeologists in other offices.
- Develop new innovations around data and interacting with our groundwater modellers.
The AECOM Water Environment team's portfolio of clients comes from both public and private sectors, spread around UK, Ireland and EMEA Region. The groundwater team collaborates with colleagues in surface water, aquatic ecology and hydromorphology to better conceptualise their sites. We work on large scale infrastructure projects, including all stages of consenting from Optioneering, through Environmental Statements, through to Delivery Consents. We have clients requiring new groundwater resources and refurbishment of existing sources, to ensure their supplies. These include Water Companies, and Food and Beverage Sector. We support mining colleagues with their water management issues on both active mine sites and legacy ones, as well as helping their moves to better sustainable practices. We are involved in the energy transition, through our work of ground source heat schemes, geothermal projects, pump storage hydro schemes, windfarms and re-conductoring projects.
Here's what we will need from you:
- BSc Hons degree in either Geology, Geography and/or Environmental Science.
- Experience working in groundwater and the water environment industry.
- A relevant MSc in a practical environment related subject.
- Evidence of early career stages with a relevant professional body, with an aim of becoming a member in the future.
