We are seeking passionate Senior Cost Managers for gas projects across the North, Midlands and Scotland Region. You will support capital investment projects including gas transmission and storage, providing client‑side cost management support throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Support the successful delivery of cost/commercial management commissions.
- Ensure commissions are managed and completed efficiently, within budget and client satisfaction.
- Monitor project risks and prepare cost reports for project reviews.
- Attend project meetings handling cost/commercial matters.
- Lead support to project managers on NEC4 contract management.
- Advise clients on procurement strategies and review tender documentation.
- Assist in delivery of multidisciplinary gas transmission and storage projects.
- Manage contractors and subcontractor payments and final accounts.
- Build strong relationships with clients and cross‑functional teams.
- Support business development with existing and new clients.
Qualifications
- Experience within a client organisation or co‑location.
- Experience with NEC PSC and ECC contracts.
- Experience in integrated, multi‑organisation teams.
- Infrastructure and cost/commercial management experience.
- Excellent communication, organisational and network skills.
- Highly motivated with industry network.
- Relationship building and independent working ability.
- Team player with a can‑do, respectful, flexible attitude.
- Experience in gas transmission and storage projects.
- Professional development engagement (e.g., RICS).
- Stakeholder engagement and financial acumen.
- Adaptability, problem‑solving, strategic thinking.
- Minimum five years cost/commercial management experience.
- Degree in quantity surveying or related subject.
- ECC accredited project manager or willingness to undertake training.
- Member of a related professional body, or working towards it.
