Overview
In this Senior Public Health Engineer role, you lead multi-disciplinary public health and fire protection design across projects for a range of sectors. You’ll collaborate with clients, mentors, and design teams to deliver integrated, compliant solutions that support decarbonisation and sustainability goals. The position combines hands-on technical design with project leadership in a dynamic Building Services team. You’ll work face-to-face with the team in the UK offices, contributing to high-profile schemes and client engagements.

Responsibilities
- Lead public health and fire protection design on projects and coordinate discipline teams
- Mentor staff and manage smaller multi-disciplinary projects
- Coordinate information flow with Architects, QS and Design Consultants for fully coordinated designs
- Ensure design and calculations satisfy QA procedures and regulatory standards
- Participate in client, design team and progress meetings; represent AECOM externally
- Support tender responses and contractor pre-qualification processes
- Input to BIM design processes using Revit and related tools
- Ensure compliance with Project Management Plan and Safety, Health & Environment policies
Key requirements
- Previous public health engineering experience in design consultancy or similar
- Solid knowledge of statutory regulations and ability to obtain approvals
- Ability to work independently with good time management
- Experience in mixed-use, residential, commercial and healthcare buildings/sectors
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drawings
- Proficiency in Revit and Navisworks for 3D coordination
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Chartered Engineer with CIBSE / IET / IMechE (or working towards)
- BEng in Engineering (MEng preferred)
- CIBSE SoPHE Member (desirable)
