This role is critical in safeguarding client reputation by ensuring all project teams adhere to statutory obligations, industry standards, and established best practice in information management.

As a Senior Information Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of robust, compliant, and value‑driven information management practices across programmes and projects. You will ensure information is treated as a strategic asset—supporting informed decision‑making, enabling digital delivery, and driving organisational value. Here's what you'll do:

  • Strategic Leadership & Governance
    • Define and implement enterprise‑level information management strategies aligned to organisational and client objectives.
    • Establish and maintain IM policies, standards, and procedures in line with ISO 19650 and broader governance frameworks.
    • Contribute to corporate information governance strategy and business planning.
    • Promote a consistent, scalable approach to IM across programmes and portfolios.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and contractual requirements, including: ISO 19650 suite, UK GDPR & Data Protection Act 2018, Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Records Act 1958.
    • Lead information risk management, ensuring risks are identified, reported, and mitigated.
    • Provide assurance reporting to senior stakeholders (e.g., Senior Information Risk Owners, Information Asset Owners, Governance Boards).
    • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation, standards, and emerging best practice.
  • Information Lifecycle & Data Governance
    • Oversee end‑to‑end information lifecycle management (creation, classification, storage, retrieval, retention, disposal).
    • Define and implement data governance frameworks, including metadata standards, naming conventions, and classification structures.
    • Ensure information quality, integrity, accessibility, and security across systems.
    • Enable effective use of information for business intelligence and decision‑making.
  • Digital Systems & CDE Management
    • Lead the configuration, administration, and optimisation of digital platforms including: Common Data Environments (CDEs), Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Online, Autodesk and related BIM platforms.
    • Govern access controls, workflows, metadata schemas, and automation.
    • Ensure systems support ISO 19650 workflows and digital delivery requirements.
  • Team Leadership & Capability Development
    • Lead, mentor, and develop Information Management and Document Control teams.
    • Allocate resources effectively based on project priorities and risk profiles.
    • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development.
    • Promote a strong culture of collaboration, accountability, and data‑driven delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management
    • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on IM risks, strategy, and opportunities.
    • Engage with clients, contractors, and supply chain partners to align IM practices.
    • Lead training, communications, and awareness initiatives to embed best practice.
    • Support organisational change by driving adoption of digital and data‑led processes.
  • Reporting & Performance Management
    • Monitor and report on IM performance, risks, and compliance against agreed KPIs.
    • Maintain and track risk registers and improvement plans.
    • Produce clear, insight‑driven reports for governance forums and leadership teams.
