Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Senior Structural Engineer. You can be based in one of our UK or Ireland offices whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model. Our thriving UK&I multidisciplinary Water Solutions business is looking for talented Senior Structural Engineers to join our growing team. We are delivering an exciting portfolio of high-value capital programmes and projects through long-term frameworks with major clients in the water sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career as a technical leader, delivering solutions on a diverse range of projects that meet the technical challenges of today and tomorrow.
Here's what you'll do:
- Technical Excellence: You will deploy technical excellence in the design of a wide range of heavy civil engineering structures, from deep belowground pumping stations to large above ground water-retaining concrete structures, and complex piled foundations to steel-framed buildings.
- Deliver: Using your experience, knowledge and judgement, you will develop structural solutions to interesting and often complex challenges. You will lead and oversee detailed design activities by others, as well as prepare detailed designs yourself.
- Expertise: You will challenge the norm, identifying and implementing innovative ideas, best practice and new ways of thinking and working to help deliver value for our clients.
- Lead: You will lead the structural design of projects as well as mentor and support the professional development of team members. Through your leadership you will foster positive client relationships.
- Communicate: You will be the interface with other project design disciplines and harness your excellent communication skills when dealing with clients and other project stakeholders.
- Documentation: You will be involved in the preparation and reviewing high-quality drawings, calculations, specifications and reports to communicate solutions.
- Quality: Quality will be central to everything you do. You will review and sign-off project deliverables with a focus on compliance and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- A degree or equivalent qualification and experience in civil and structural engineering.
- Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional institution; for example, ICE, IStructE.
- Experience in developing robust and efficient structural solutions and managing technical delivery in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience in structural design using appropriate standards and specification.
- Strong collaboration and coordination skills between teams, clients and stakeholders.
- Passion for delivering technical solutions and leading technical teams.
