Job Description
Join our dynamic Transmission and Distribution business in the UK & Ireland. Collaborate with top‐tier electrical, civil and mechanical engineers on projects ranging from small initiatives to large‐scale ventures, such as the Great Grid Upgrade Project.
Responsibilities
- Develop, refine and optimise protection & control solutions, including key line diagrams, schematic diagrams, relay settings, SCADA topology diagrams, wiring diagrams, design specifications, and interface drawings.
- Review designs produced by suppliers to ensure technical compliance and alignment with National Grid/Client policies and standards.
- Act as Owner's Engineer, reviewing and commenting on supplier designs and calculations for HV clients, including BESS and renewables projects.
- Conduct protection coordination studies and settings calculations using ETAP or similar software.
Qualifications
- Electrical or power engineering qualification (HNC, HND, BSc/BEng, MSc/MEng).
- Experience with the National Grid or SSE HV design process and related project experience.
- Experience in P&C FEED or detailed design of high voltage installations (132 kV to 400 kV).
- Team player with client‐focused mindset and strong customer‐facing skills.
- Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects.
- Strong experience with transmission voltages 275 kV/400 kV and ideally a consulting, utility, renewable generation or OEM background.
