Senior Modeller â Water Resources team. You will serve as a senior technical resource, mentor junior staff, and expand our offerings to local authorities, water companies, and publicâsector clients.
Responsibilities:- Develop and validate hydraulic models using Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, Mike 11/21, HECâRAS, ICM, to design Flood Alleviation Schemes, perform Flood Risk Assessments and reservoir flood studies.
- Develop waterâquality models (physicoâchemical, biological, bacterial, or chemical) with MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT, or ICM.
- Conceptualise and scope modelling approaches, assessing risks and opportunities.
- Conduct hydrological assessments using Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2, and WINFAP.
- Lead tender preparation for innovative projects and large framework contracts.
- Mentor team members to support their professional development.
- Build client relationships and collaborate across technical disciplines.
- Stay current with legislation and guidelines that affect our services.
- Use AECOM's project management systems to deliver highâquality outputs on schedule and on budget.
- Collaborate with engineers and specialists to deliver a wide range of fluvial, coastal, surface water or drainage floodârisk projects.
- Significant experience with hydraulic and waterâquality modelling software (Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller, TUFLOW).
- Knowledge of Environment Agency requirements for floodârisk assessments.
- Understanding of physicoâchemical waterâquality and regulatory standards for fresh waters.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification with CIWEM or similar (or near completion).
- Practical scripting skills in Python, Anaconda, or Ruby are advantageous.
