We are seeking an enthusiastic Ports Engineering Apprentice to join our Ports & Marine team in Plymouth, Basingstoke, or London, starting Autumn 2026. The apprentice will gain hands‑on experience supporting the design, maintenance, and development of ports and waterfront infrastructure from concept to construction.
Job Responsibilities:
- Produce CAD drawings.
- Support project administration and record maintenance.
- Assist with data review and analysis.
- Contribute to problem‑solving solutions.
- Attend site visits to collect information.
- Combine on‑the‑job training with further studies towards a Level 3 or Level 6 engineering apprenticeship and eventual Engineering Technician and Incorporated Engineer status.
Required Documents:
- CV detailing work experience, education, dates, grades, subjects, and level attained.
- Cover letter explaining passion, interest, and how skills support the application.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including Maths & English.
- Three A‑Levels, including Maths and a physical science at grade C or above.
- Aptitude for CAD and 3D software.
- Interest in a career in Bridge & Structures or similar.
- Commitment to on‑the‑job learning and training.
- Creative, practical, adaptable, enthusiastic.
- Attention to detail and methodical planning skills.
- Excellent English communication skills.
