In this role, you contribute to airport engineering projects across a range of sizes, from greenfield to major hubs. You will work within the Airport Planning & Advisory team to deliver masterplanning, feasibility, design, and handover services. You collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to shape resilient, sustainable aviation infrastructure. Your work helps connect cities and regions while supporting strategic capital planning and project delivery. Responsibilities

  • Contribute to airport engineering designs including runways, taxiways, aprons, terminals, access roads, lighting, navigational aids, drainage, utilities, and pavement rehabilitation
  • Produce drawings, reports, calculations, simulations, and presentations
  • Conduct asset condition inspections and report findings to asset owners for strategic decision-making
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks aligning with project schedules and budgets
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams across the UK and Europe
  • Attend client meetings and contribute to discussions on developed designs
  • Self-check deliverables and participate in design reviews; adhere to AECOM QA processes

Key requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Air Transport Management or Airport Planning
  • Solution-oriented mindset with willingness to challenge the status quo
  • Proactive attitude toward learning and professional growth
  • Experience in airport master planning, terminal or airside planning, capacity analysis or terminal facilities planning
  • Knowledge of Civil Aviation regulatory standards (ICAO, EASA, CAA, FAA, IATA)
  • Good knowledge/experience of AutoCAD and AviPlan; Civil 3D or similar desirable
  • Knowledge of airfield and terminal facility simulation and modelling
