Are you a Regional Director with experience of leading a team of Cost Managers? Do you have experience delivering major construction projects and portfolios of work? Are you able to develop and grow opportunities across both the public and private sector? If so, we are looking for an experienced Regional Director to lead our Cost Management consultancy team serving the North of England.
You will possess the skills and experience to actively lead a team of Cost Managers across a range of grades (including Project Directors and Associates) managing performance, career development, and recruitment. The role is market facing, including driving business development and growth with new and existing clients in both the Public sector (including Healthcare, Tertiary Education, Central Government, Defence) and Private clients and developers across the commercial sector.
As a Regional Director you will be responsible for the technical delivery of services by the team including managing client relationships and being the point of escalation where necessary. You will also have the ability to successfully manage and deliver complex, high profile projects including being the day-to-day point of contact responsibility where appropriate.
Main aspects of the role:
- Provide leadership within the cost management business practice
- Undertake Line Management and supervisory responsibilities, where you will support, motivate, and mentor members of your team
- Drive actions to retain and hire new team members
- Manage project finances, resourcing, audits, and reviews, to a portfolio of projects being led within the cost centre
- Ensure all staff members reporting to you have current and relevant training
- Support team members through Professional Chartership
- Lead client account relationships and frameworks
- Lead commissions (including cross discipline and multi-dis services) taking responsibility for their successful delivery
- Progress business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross-selling other services
- Lead bid and fee proposals including through internal governance processes
Qualifications:
- A range of public and private sector experience.
- Extensive cost Management experience gained within a construction consultancy setting.
- Experience at a leadership level in a comparative Project Management business.
- Experience of managing, leading & growing teams.
- Demonstrable track record of winning new work from new clients & repeat work from existing clients.
- Extensive experience of successfully delivering complex projects.
- Extensive experience in all aspects of pre and post contract services including: feasibility studies, cost planning, tender document preparation.
- Demonstrable strong client relationships & network of contacts.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
- Excellent industry network and reputation, including development of Thought Leadership and personal profile.
- A passion for first class service delivery, implementing best practice and continuous improvement.
- Possess the ability to work across service lines.
- Construction Related Degree
- Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB or APM
- NEC4 Accreditation (preferred)
