Shaping Ireland's Transport Future (Roads, Public Transport, and Greenways) Accelerate Your Career in Infrastructure. AECOM's Surface Transportation Team in Ireland is thriving due to significant growth fuelled by a robust pipeline of major Roads, Public Transport and Greenway programmes. We are seeking a driven and experienced Senior Engineer (or similar Senior Infrastructure Engineer) to join our transportation team in Ireland.

    • Public Transport: Delivery teams for the TII Luas Programme, the NTA BusConnects Programmes, NTA Bus Stop Design Team, and multiple major Irish rail projects.
    • Greenways: A vast programme of Greenways (>300km) in the Republic of Ireland for TII and Local Authorities, including major greenway schemes like Barnesmore Gap Greenway and Carrigans to Lifford Greenway in County Donegal, the West Cork Greenways Skibbereen Sections, and the Galway-Oughterard Greenway.

Your Role & Responsibilities

You will:

  • Manage and lead design packages on a diverse range of projects from concept to construction stage, including major highways, rail, and light rail projects, bus infrastructure projects (to LTN 1/24, NTA standards), and greenway/active travel projects (to TII PMGs/Cycling by Design/TII standards).
  • Know and apply UK and/or Irish design standards to create safe, people-focused transport solutions.
  • Deliver high quality deliverables and service to our clients, meeting our quality standards and their expectations within time and budget constraints.
  • Work seamlessly within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with technicians, engineers and specialists in other disciplines (e.g., drainage, structures, environmental).
  • Work directly with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders, guiding them through technical challenges and relevant statutory approval processes.
  • Develop our team, through mentoring of apprentices, contributing to AECOM's culture of growth and continuous learning.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what's possible? Here's what we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or similar. International applicants will hold an equivalent Degree recognised by the International Engineering Alliance.
  • Candidates who demonstrate their commitment and progression toward Chartership.
  • Post-graduate experience in relevant areas such as civil engineering, highways, public transport and greenways, NEC contracts and other Contract Management experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in the relevant design standards in the UK and Ireland applicable to our projects.
  • Knowledge and experience in contract documentation for major transport projects.
  • Knowledge of statutory planning and design approvals in the UK and/or Ireland.
  • Experience in working within teams of varying sizes and capabilities to deliver work packages to a high quality.
