Overview
In this role you will lead public health and fire protection design for high-profile projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable, compliant solutions. You’ll mentor colleagues, manage small multi-disciplinary projects, and liaise with clients while integrating building services in BIM workflows. You’ll work across sectors from healthcare to commercial, contributing to net-zero and water sustainability initiatives. This is a face-to-face, office-based role that offers growth within a global, technology-driven firm.

Responsibilities
- Lead Public Health and Fire Protection design on projects and coordinate with other disciplines
- Mentor and develop staff; manage small multi-disciplinary projects
- Coordinate information from Architects, QS and Design Consultants for fully coordinated designs
- Ensure information is shared with the Design Team and complies with QA procedures
- Represent AECOM at client, design team and progress meetings
- Support pre-qualification and tender responses; respond to tender queries
- Ensure design work aligns with Project Management Plan and Programme
- Contribute to BIM processes in Revit and related tools
- Ensure statutory/regulatory compliance and obtain necessary approvals
- Input to design information and calculations and sign off accordingly
- liaise with contractors and support project managers during tender and construction phases
- Maintain client relationships and uphold safety, health and environment policies
Key requirements
- Public health engineering experience in design consultancy or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of statutory regulations and ability to obtain approvals
- Ability to work independently with good time management
- Experience across mixed-use, residential, commercial and healthcare sectors
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drawings
- Proficiency in 3D Revit and Navisworks
- Clear written and oral communication skills
- Chartered Engineer or working towards (CIBSE / IET / IMechE) and BEng in a relevant engineering field (MEng preferred)
- CIBSE SoPHE membership or working towards it
