We are looking for a highly skilled and innovative senior graphic design professional to join our regional creative team, primarily creating well-designed, fully compliant bid materials that not only meet all specification requirements but also deliver a distinctive, compelling visual identity to set us apart from competitors.
This role specialises in the end-to-end delivery of bid/proposal design; from client kick-off meetings, creative concept generation, proposal identity design, presentations, project management, and including information design, problem solving, and creation of proposal templates.
The position requires establishing strong working relationships with cross-functional proposal teams including bid managers, technical specialists, and partners in joint venture teams (combined AECOM and partner organisations). Key to this will be the ability to collaborate, engage, and lead client meetings and workshops towards strategic objectives with stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will combine strategic thinking, visual storytelling, and brand consistency with a passion for creating persuasive, compelling, client-focused materials under tight deadlines with the aim of actively contributing to the overall proposal win rate and success KPI’s.
Key Responsibilities- Lead design for major pursuits: Develop and execute creative concepts for high-value bids and proposals, ensuring alignment with client expectations and AECOM brand guidelines.
- Collaborate across teams: Work closely with pursuit teams, marketing, and technical teams to translate complex content into visually engaging materials.
- Stakeholder management: Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills—actively engaging in pursuit meetings to listen, contribute, and challenge through creative problem solving, while ensuring brand integrity and consistency, particularly in joint venture bids.
- Brand stewardship: Maintain global brand integrity while adapting designs for regional and cultural nuances.
- Creative innovation: Introduce fresh design approaches and storytelling techniques to differentiate our proposals in competitive markets and persuade our audience of our suitability for partnership.
- Quality assurance: Ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of design, accuracy, and compliance with bid requirements.
- Manage Team Members: Directly manage the workload of two junior bid/presentation designers with the team, working on bids and related creative assets. Some management of related graphic design collateral such as brochures may also be required.
- Project management: Manage multiple pursuits simultaneously, prioritising tasks and meeting strict deadlines. Able to work flexibly on occasion to meet critical deadlines and deliver high-quality outputs. Collaborate with the wider creative function, whether leading a project or collaborating with other designers as a team.
- Degree (equivalent qualification or significant professional experience will be considered) in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a senior design role, ideally within a global or large-scale consultancy environment.
- Design expertise: Advanced proficiency in MS apps including PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and presentation tools (PowerPoint) familiar with digital workspaces such as Miro and Mural.
- Bid/Proposal experience: Proven track record in designing for proposal/bid design, preferably in a global consultancy or professional services environment.
- Strategic thinking: Ability to understand client drivers and tailor design solutions accordingly.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams across regions.
- Attention to detail: Exceptional eye for layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.
- Time management: Ability to thrive under pressure and deliver outstanding work within tight timelines.
- Location: UK location (must be prepared to work on-site at co-located bid locations)
- Reports to: Creative Lead, Europe and India
- Department: Marketing and Communications, Europe and India
