Job Description
Through the application of industrial expertise, the Industrial Advisory team acts as a standalone business and supports AECOM projects in the UK&I region and globally. The role reports to an Industrial Advisory sector lead supporting our smart manufacturing offering, ensuring the technical and commercial success of delivered projects.
Responsibilities
- Support development of value propositions for Industrial Advisory capabilities applied to manufacturing environments.
- Develop innovative thought leadership that sets AECOM apart from competitors.
- Develop best practice methods and standards for Smart Manufacturing implementation and production data integration across Advisory Services and the wider organization.
- Build a network within AECOM to promote Industrial Advisory into projects and with clients.
- Develop client relationships through project delivery and support business development.
- Support development of solutions to business/client challenges from an analysis of business practices and goals.
- Collaborate with Advisory Services teams to formulate strategy and develop offerings that maximize the potential of the wider team.
- Ensure projects under your management are executed to quality, cost, and time.
Qualifications
- Background with in‑house manufacturing/engineering project team or system integrator in heavily automated production industry.
- Significant practical experience designing and delivering full shopfloor‑to‑cloud data integration projects using major vendor product suites.
- Demonstrable experience in manufacturing, process, or logistics industries.
- Experience or willingness to develop consulting capacity and stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrates initiative and a desire to solve complex problems.
- Ability to listen to clients, understand and formulate compelling arguments for our services.
- Flexibility to work away from office to meet client demands.
- Hybrid work model, primary office in Manchester, Nottingham or Warrington; regular travel across UK, Europe and overseas as required.
Additional Skills We Value
- Security clearance of SC level or ability to obtain within 5 years’ residency in UK.
- Automation knowledge and experience.
- Experienced, approachable leader with strong leadership skills.
- Strong coaching, training and influencing skills.
- Understanding of continuous improvement methods, Lean principles and Six Sigma across industries.

Preferred Qualifications
Ideally qualified to HND level or higher, or minimum of five years’ experience in industry with demonstrated knowledge. Membership in an appropriate professional body would be advantageous.
