AECOM's environmental practice is dedicated to helping industries, clients and governments meet their environmental responsibilities while protecting the natural environment. We provide advisory and technical services to ensure compliance, manage impacts, and reduce risks, including obtaining permits and approvals, decommissioning and restoring contaminated sites, and tackling climate change challenges and resilience. We focus on preserving habitats, water quality, stakeholder engagement and cultural resources, promoting a holistic approach to environmental impact management at every project stage.

As part of our growing Ecology team, you’ll contribute to meaningful projects and help shape environmental outcomes across NSW.

How you’ll make a difference:

  • Delivering ecological assessments and field investigations
  • Baseline flora and fauna surveys and biodiversity assessments
  • Supporting State Significant Development and Infrastructure projects
  • Technical reporting and environmental impact assessment
  • Building trusted client relationships and supporting project delivery
  • Leading project teams and mentoring emerging ecologists
  • Growing capability and contributing to business development
  • Driving innovation and improving ecological approaches and tools

The qualities that help you thrive:

  • Experience in ecology, environmental consulting or related disciplines
  • Knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation
  • Experience with biodiversity assessment, approvals and ecological investigations
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • A passion for biodiversity, conservation and delivering practical environmental outcomes
  • Leadership capability or an interest in growing into people leadership opportunities
  • Experience with the NSW Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) and accreditation is highly regarded but not essential across all levels.
