As part of our growth initiative under our successful strategic plan we are seeking to appoint a Heritage Lead. This role reports directly to the Impact Assessment Practice Lead and forms part of the Leadership Team.
You will lead and develop the Heritage team while playing a key role in the Impact Assessment leadership team for the UK and Ireland (UK&I) region. Responsibilities include people leadership client development technical excellence operational efficiency and sustainable growth. You will achieve this by fostering an inclusive client-focused culture built on proactive engagement innovation and outcome-driven delivery.
This position can be based from any of our UK&I offices. It is open to internal candidates only.

About You
You are a motivated proactive leader with a strong understanding of the UK&I Environment and Sustainability consultancy market. You bring insight into the social political and economic drivers shaping our industry. With extensive experience leading diverse teams in fast-paced environments you have a proven record in work winning business performance improvement and team development.
What you\'ll do
- Lead grow and empower the Heritage Team within the Impact Assessment Practice across the UK&I region.
- Collaborate with the Practice Lead and client / sector teams to deliver a growth plan aligned to the EE Strategic Plan.
- Drive business development by identifying opportunities nurturing client relationships and supporting proposal development.
- Take accountability for Heritage team performance including Net Revenue Book to Burn Gross Margin Utilisation % FTEs and attrition.
- Lead senior recruitment and attract top talent.
- Ensure excellence in project delivery with projects completed on time on budget and to a high standard.
- Foster a culture where AECOM is recognised as a great place to work by upholding company values promoting equity diversity and inclusion and supporting employee development.
- Champion SH&E by driving its culture ensuring effective implementation of policies and achieving core metrics.
- Lead change initiatives to enhance efficiency profitability and quality.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in leading and motivating teams in environmental consultancy with strong financial performance.
- Strong understanding of environmental markets regulatory frameworks and socio-political drivers.
- Proven ability to develop and grow client relationships.
- Experience across sectors such as Energy Water Defence High Tech Urban Regeneration and Transportation.
- Success in implementing change programmes and driving data-informed performance improvements.
- Excellent communication interpersonal presentation and negotiation skills.
- Flexible proactive and adaptable to changing circumstances.
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g. Social Science Environmental Science Engineering) or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
- Membership of a recognised professional body relevant to core markets.

Understanding a projects potential environmental and heritage impacts and regulatory constraints is critical to timely cost-effective planning sustainable design stakeholder engagement and successful consenting. AECOMs leading Impact Assessment team of 160 specialists delivers Environmental Impact Assessments including heritage assessments for clients in Energy Water Defence High Tech Urban Regeneration and Transportation. We are industry leaders delivering Environmental Statements for major Development Consent Orders and Environmental Impact Assessments for large urban regeneration projects in London.
