Job Description
At AECOM, our Highways Engineering team provides our clients with a range of services including planning, design project management and asset support services. Our award-winning Highways design team is leading the Building Information Modelling (BIM) industry, and remains at the forefront of cutting-edge design for a new highways concept of ‘smart’ motorways, on several UK based projects. Our services include:

  1. Transportation economics and planning
  2. Feasibility and corridor studies
  3. Environmental studies
  4. Highway design
  5. Traffic management planning
  6. Pavement analysis
  7. Drainage design
  8. Utility relocation
  9. Streetscape design
  10. Vulnerability analysis and security systems
  11. Intelligent transportation systems (ITS)

We are looking for ambitious, hardworking, enthusiastic Civil Engineering graduates who have computational, mathematical and design skills. Successful applicants will use industry-leading computer software and BIM modelling programmes while working on a variety of different highway-specific expertise.

Qualifications:

  1. BEng Civil Engineering with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or above
  2. MEng Civil Engineering would be an advantage
  3. Highways/Roads modules or experience would be an advantage
  4. Ability to demonstrate a good technical understanding of Highways Engineering
  5. Demonstrable interest in Highways Engineering and developing a career in this industry
  6. Willing and able to work towards a professional qualification with the CIHT, or ICE
  7. Good Microsoft Office skills essential such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  8. Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing
  9. Enthusiastic, hard-working, with ambition and drive
  10. Ability to structure & prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team as a whole
  11. Ability to work in a team and independently without losing initiative & focus
