We have a number of exciting opportunities across the UK and Ireland for graduates to work within our Traffic Engineering Teams. This team is focused on developing engineering measures to achieve a safe and efficient movement and interaction of pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles on our roads. Our main aim is to create streets that are more pleasant and safe to use by our local communities.
The AECOM Surface Transportation, Aviation & Ports Team in Ireland has over 150 professionals operating from Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Belfast. We are seeking a highly driven Graduate Engineer to join our Streets Team based in Cork delivering projects across the country. You will be part of a growing young team in Cork and will fit into a positive team structure with strong engineering staff and will be supported by a locally based senior management team. You will also be enrolled in the AECOM ADVANCE graduate development programme which is designed to help you build your career in AECOM.
As a graduate in our team, you’ll support a range of high-profile and meaningful projects across our transportation sector, working with both local and national clients on the island of Ireland. You’ll get to work on active travel projects, bus priority schemes, public realm improvements and various road infrastructure schemes.
You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary team, in particular Environment and Landscape Teams, to gain hands-on experience with industry-leading tools, contributing to projects at all stages — from early feasibility through to detailed design, construction support and contract administration.

Qualifications:
- BEng in Civil Engineering, General Engineering, with a 2:1 (or equivalent) or above
- MEng in Civil Engineering, General Engineering, with a 2:1 (or equivalent) or above would be an advantage
- Enthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, with ambition and drive.
- Good report writing skills are beneficial.
- Ability to structure & prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team as a whole
- Ability to work in a team and independently without losing initiative & focus
